Duckie Brown NEW YORK, Sep 9, 2006/ FW/ --- Euro grunge with a very fashion-forward attitude, Duckie Brown once again brought sparkle to the New York Spring 2007 menswear scene as they did on their runway debut during the Fall 2005 season.

Extra long untucked shirts worn with regular length suit jackets and relaxed trousers, laser cut pin cords worn over laser cut sweats and monochromatic prints adorning sweatshirts, Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, the design duo behind the menswear label Duckie Brown put grunge into classic tailoring.

It’s street wear with an artistic twist, something that is seen mostly during the Paris Menswear season. And, though it will be a loss for the New York menswear scene if and when Duckie Brown decides to bring their show in Paris, the City of Lights is where they belong.

Stringed supersized trousers, dickies that work as vests, low U-necklines on tees, printed suit jackets and walking shorts, Duckie Brown also caters to the Japanese club culture group, once again giving it a very grunge feel.

Though grunge had always been associated with the ‘thrift store’ scene, what makes Duckie Brown’s collection stand out is that it is as far away from flea markets as possible. The beanies and sweats together with the oversized silhouette suggest the grunge template but the look is contemporary, even futuristic at times.

In keeping with the very casual mood, Duckie Brown proposed sneakers for shoes. And since this collection is for Gen X and Gen Y, a red laptop cover / briefcase was also shown.
