PARIS, Jul 10, 2004/ FW/ --- The design duo of Michel Dupré and Christelle Santabarbara (photo at left) pushed forward the design’s team’s innovations for haute couture.

More Black Widow than ever before, the Dupré Santabarbara woman heads to Las Vegas where she puts it all on the line in the ritzy, desert casinos. Before she leaves, she transforms herself in a gun brandishing bride!

Beginning with a patchwork evening gown in pink and black hosiery, the duo showed what they are really made of. This creation has a “hood” neckline and embroidered sequinned and lace flowers, carmine velvet threads and pale blue yarns.

Their blouse and micro mini skirt in a patchwork of dark blue hosiery with yokes of sequined red lace and casino roulette wheel bands added pizzazz to the collection. It, coupled with their micro cocktail dress in sequined multicoloured lace and casino bands is an exercise vision for the duo.

Their “Trompe l’Oeil” embroidered evening suit in a patchwork of black velvet and black hosiery shows how well the Dupré Santabarbara mixes traditional fabrics with their most unconventional hosiery leitmotif.

The “Croupier” jumpsuit is sleek and looks as if feels good on the body as its fabrics breathe. It too is in a patchwork of hosiery in black, white and chocolate.

The Dupré Santabarbara black widow apparently loses at the roulette wheel. But she is determined not to leave empty handed.

Brandishing mock-military firearms and a wedding dress, the “Commando” bride appears in a dress done in a patchwork of black embroidered hosiery and velvet, with matching maxi gloves and jewels confectioned in silver mesh hosiery. This is a clever little number, which is nothing less than a new high for the design duo.

Dupré Santabarbara works wonders with their collections made in hosiery. They have vision and a promising future. The team also is making important strides in terms of the quality of their finished products.

And as they continue show and gain more experience, their work is certain to prove as the range of their creativity expands, even earning them perhaps a most coveted place among the other couturiers showing on the official calendar. Affaire à suivre…!
