MILAN, Jan 15, 2007/ FW/ --- Youthful, anti-establishment with a touch of rock & roll, J.Lindeberg’s Fall 2007 collection is a young man’s wardrobe that has all the right pieces to wear to school / university, sport when he goes cruising and don when he goes home to his parents for dinner.
Trousers are cut wide and outer coats are oversized. Neckties are optional and so are the suit jackets since this young man can choose to wear a cable knit sweater or a bomber jacket in lieu of a suit.
But, if he condescendence to wear a suit, he looks like a rock star, opting for luminous shades of slate, gray and black.
The trench is the coat of choice, proposed in two standard lengths – mid calf or knee. There are also two varieties of the sweater, the standard length and the extra long that reaches at the thighs. Military influences were also seen in the short-cropped and bomber jackets.
Wearable, highly covetable and sleek, it’s actually a collection that will do very well when it hits the store.
The only problem is that J. Lindeberg did not really propose anything new at all. Though the collection borders on avant-garde, every piece that was shown had been seen elsewhere before.
