MILAN, Jul 28, 2005/ FW/ --- J.Lindeberg known for his contemporary and modern aesthetics has expanded his vision of sports shoes with the introduction of J.Lindeberg Future Sports Golf Shoe, developed in collaboration with PUMA.
A 10-year veteran in the world of fashion, Johan Lindeberg foray to the sporting world is a logical step. In 1996, when he founded J.Lindeberg in New York and Stockholm, he wanted to create the 21st century lifestyle brand for the modern consumer.
A decade later, his idea is fast becoming a reality with 10 flagship stores and distribution in 25 countries of his current lines - J.Lindeberg Concept, Progressive Tailoring, j.lindeberg.denim and Future Sports.
The J.Lindeberg Future Sports Golf Shoe signals a revolutionary new design approach in golf shoes.
Combining high performance and functionality with modern contermporary design, the squared toe, sculptured heel, the "JL bridge logo" branding on the kiltie with PUMA's signature form stripe, the shoe also offers an exclusive breathable waterproof barrier to keep the feet dry and comfortable in any condition.
The Future Sports Golf Shoe will be worn by world- class professional golfers Jesper Parnevik, Hank Kuehne and James Heath and launched in Europe during the Scandinavian Masters in Kungsangen, Sweden, July 28 - 31 by Parnevik and Heath during competition.
American Hank Kuehne, who possesses the longest drive on the PGA commented in a statement, "I love the fact that the shoe is extremely comfortable and is definitely high performance while looking great."
And from the designer himself, he said, "The design process took 18 months, but I really wanted to find the perfect balance between a dimensional and modern design and full performance features.”
The shoe will be available to consumers in a limited edition release this holiday season, followed by a larger distribution of two color ways (white/black and white/fluorescent orange) in February 2006.
