LONDON, Sep 21, 2004/ FW/ --- Set in the garage of the Danish Embassy on London’s Pavilion Road, the Jen Laugsen show started with a fitting white work-man’s jump suit with pumps.
Jen Laugesen collection was all about the deconstruction of men’s tailoring on the female form. Cut off tuxedo shirts, male trousers and suit vest were worn by deviant female models.
The first half of the collection was all in black and white. Deconstructed blazers were draped over tanks and styled with double wasted trousers. Vest dresses and chunky pumps made the models look boyish.
Sporting slick hair and a fire red lip, the models looked androgynous in the loose fit garments. The collection transitioned to eveningwear with mesh see-through dresses and lace nightgowns.
Turquoise and hot pink were introduced to the show in the form of tights and more tailored deconstructed garments that consisted of cropped jackets and hot pants.
Jen Laugesen is saying so much about how women are feeling about fashion and sex. He is really making the new sex sale in a no sex era.
