Jeroen Van Tuyl DALLAS, Apr 10, 2007/ FW/ --- One of the most exciting talents to come out of the Netherlands, Jeroen Van Tuyl’s popularity continues to soar as his signature silhouette of exercising on angles and pointed shapes and figures on menswear gather more fans around the globe.

Presenting his 13th collection, ‘Dragon Tech’ last January 29th at the Rex Club in Paris, Van Tuyl choose to highlight wool Spencers tops, duffle coats or trousers using several materials in contrasting colors, the Dutch designer’s Fall 2007 collection is discreet and original.

Slim fitting shirts done in color blocks of monochromatic tones from beige to brown, tone-on-tone cardigan and pullover shirt, rounded shoulders on short-cropped tuxedo jackets, then shifting to squares on the blouson, Van Tuyl dressed the contemporary metro gent.

Jeroen Van Tuyl is one of those kinds of talents that Hollywood classifies as a ‘sleeper hit.’ Though Van Tuyl’s talent as a designer was recognized early on, it took two years since his graduation from the Arnhem Institute for the Arts in 1998 to launch his first label – VanTuyl De Rooij, a womenswear line in 2000.

His collaboration with Edwin de Rooij lasted two years. In 2002, Van Tuyl launched his eponymous menswear label with what would be his signature style, a novel architectural approach to men’s apparel.

Never high-flying, Van Tuyl built recognition for his brand slowly, using the tried and true way – masterful cuts and tailoring on easy-to-wear clothing. Uncompromising in his designs, the young Dutch designer became a name to watch in the very competitive and artistic Paris menswear scene.

Season after season, he presented collections that are unique, but was built on what he had done before, thus providing continuity that retail buyers, fashion media and fashionistas are looking for in an emerging designer.

Strong, coherent and well-edited shows became the norm for Van Tuyl. His innovations are subtle; the silhouettes based on the classic yet became edgy after being treated with Van Tuyl’s razor sharp tailoring.

It’s really no wonder that the Jereon Van Tuyl label is already sold extensively in the Netherlands and already boasts of doors in Russia and Belgium.
