MILAN, Feb 21, 2007/ FW/ --- Since its re-launch in 2005, Ken Scott continues to gather momentum as the work of the late Ken Scott, nicknamed ‘Il giardiniere della moda’ (The Gardener of Fashion) is reinvented, reworked and added a modern edge.
Dipping into the archives, design duo Paolo Battaglia and Antonio Ponte played with volume and texture to breath a new life to Ken Scott’s work putting them into patchwork constructions, 3-D embroideries and new hardware such as belt buckles and buttons.
Knitted sweater dresses sport 3-D embroidery of Ken Scott’s original floral design. The collarless shirt silk dress edged with gold at the hem, on the sleeves and at the waist was given black and gray tone of a different original motif created by Ken Scott while a bustier dress featured pastel shades of the design.
New this season are fur coats, zipped jackets and outerwear that are lined with silk imprinted with a new rendition of the original work. As a finishing touch to this collection are eveningwear that are beaded or sequined following the late design giant’s creations.
Accessories such are handbags and totes in aged calfskin are printed with an eclectic blend of Ken Scott’s motifs. They also come in velvet logo jacquard.
