Lolita Lempicka PARIS, Oct 8, 2004/ FW/ --- Lights, cameras, music journalists! All was set for the return of Lolita Lempicka to the big stage of Salle Le Notre at Paris’ Carrousel du Louvre.

After a noticeable absence, Ms. Lempicka showed how and why her style was able to dominate the international French fashion scene for much of the 1990s.

Ms. Lempicka opened the show with a blue dress in light blue cotton with spaghetti straps. This dress epitomizes the soft edge of the house’s style. A white skirt with green prints next came, followed by lovely printed shorts with lace trimming ŕ la Lempicka.

The French heroine’s show was obviously a tribute to country girls in their garden homes. This was so clear when an off the shoulder dress with flowery print came to the runway. It was the beginning of the gale of fresh air that swept through the Louvre.

A simple off the shoulder pink and orange horizontally striped dress then made its appearance. It hugs with slight abandon the feminine silhouette of she who wears it. This little number has three-quarter length sleeves, as does her yellow dress with spaghetti straps. It is cut well above the knees.

In the middle of all the lovely printed fabrics came a well-crafted light coat jacket. It has ľ length sleeves and is ornamented with huge buttons. A mesmerising knit-lace skirt dress took to the runway bringing great delight to the attendees. It has a way of spoiling those who love to see women’s hips in natural motion.

Lolita did long dresses as well. The most memorable is her long dress in orange with cross-your-back spaghetti straps. It is perfectly accentuated with lace embellishments around the bust.

This Lempicka collection is exactly what this season has been missing in Paris. The collection was delicate, consistent and a true breath of life and renewal. It should also do very well with both Ms. Lempicka’s Japanese and Western European clients. In other words the collection is a true triumph.
