NEW YORK, Sep 7, 2005/ ---- New York City socialites and some of the world’s most fashionable women are becoming devotees to a new name in fashion: Naeem Khan.

The luxurious collection, designed by Naeem Khan, consists of impeccably tailored cocktail suits, sophisticated dresses and cashmere separates.

Naeem Khan gowns - often embellished with beads so delicate that a surgical needle is necessary to attach them – are recognizable through flourishes and other specialty treatments that are distinctive to the label.

The details synonymous with the collection are causing frenzy among such women as Ahn Duong, Tinsley Mortimer, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Somers White and Princess Aga Khan, all choosing to wear Naeem Khan gowns to black tie events.

Naeem Khan launched in 2003 and began selling in Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus as well at 40 specialty stores across the country.

For two years, Khan and his creative team worked to establish the collection’s modern direction, and in spring 2005, they presented for the first time during Olympus Fashion Week in New York City.

Khan was born in 1958 in India and cultivated his knowledge of textiles growing-up on the watchful eyes of his grandfather and father, both well known in India for designing the intricate clothing worn by royal families and other wealthy notables.

In 1976, Khan traveled to the United States and worked for Halston for three years. In 1981, Khan started the Riazee collection in New York. For 14 years Khan designed casual separates and cocktail dresses under the Riazee label, before launching Naeem Khan.

Khan is a man of many passions. He is a fashion designer, a philanthropist, a father and husband, a traveler, and a modern art collector to name a few. His collection is inspired by the world of luxury and hand crafted textiles; he constantly strives to create classic looks from lavish fabrics and express himself through elegant embroideries and elaborate workmanship in each garment he designs.
