MILAN, Oct 13, 2004/ FW/ – ‘Hand made dresses, worn by friends in a borrowed space’ is an intriguing idea, especially when fashion week in Milan is full to the brim of events, mass production and parties. Young and talented Tisci handed Milan a taste of something vaguely Parisian with his personalized presentation for spring summer 2005.
For his fifth collection, Tisci follows trends by making them his own as volume meets slim tailoring for sensual feminine silhouettes that meander in a multi functional space enticingly beautiful and richly regal.
Burned Swarovski crystals dance on fabric like antique jewels for a collection inspired by luscious Victorian excessiveness and decay along with religious iconography from Voodoo charm to Indian spices and the artistic geometry of Louise Bourgeois.
Almost avant-garde Tisci is modern and reminiscent, delightfully and carefully detailing a wardrobe with special attention to movement and reason as his clothing often changes to suit the purpose.
Elegant and extremely chic, Riccardo Tisci has one more fan in this fashion writer who was thrilled to bits to see not only a collection devoted to expression and purity, but with a presentation that would usually be seen somewhere other than on Milanese soil, worldly rather than categorized.
