Rosita & DiSarno: Rosita & Di Sarno: Different Backgrounds and Common Interests

Bolivia-native Rosita Hurtado and Italy-native Carmine DiSarno are the design duo behind the new label Rosita & DiSarno, a collaboration that evolved from friendship to a similar vision regarding design.

With very different backgrounds – one in haute couture, the other one in pręt-a-porter, combining their expertise and eye for fashion brought forth innovative concepts and luxurious ready-to-wear under the label Rosita & DiSarno.

Born in southern Italy and growing up in Florence, Carmine DiSarno was literally surrounded by the legendary Italian fashion sense and style. A graduate of the Instituto Arte Di Firenze, he trained under Basile and Eurno before striking out on his own.

The two designers literally grew up with an ocean between them. Rosita Hurtado was born in Santa Cruz del Sierra, Bolivia. Leaving her native country to pursue her fashion dream, Rosita Hurtado studied at the Dominique Atelier School of Fashion in Paris, and at the Atelier Yocanda School in Brazil.

Launching her own label under the name RH Creaciones, Rosita Hurtado created a high fashion Bolivian company that she actively manages up to today. She also organized the “Festival De La Moda” in 1986, a highly regarded event in her native Bolivia where the country’s top fashion designers show their collection until now.

The Spring 2005 season is when Rosita & DiSarno debuts their first ever collection in New York.
