True Meaning is a contemporary collection under the creative direction of Bisou Bisou founder
Marc Bohbot that made its runway debut in Los Angeles during the Spring 2005 season.
The brand is all about the jacket - box jackets, one-button notch collar jackets, trenches,
ponchos and car coats, along with a new twist on the classic twin-set.
Each jacket comes with a signature Bohbot touch: a coordinating flower pin in either
faux mink or in a chiffon and tweed mix.
Bohbot loves fabrics that are sumptous and distinct; ranging from heavier fabrics like tweed,
tapestry and brocade to lighter fabrics like silk, chiffon, cotton and lurex.
"True Meaning is a new statement for fashion," says Bohbot. "We call it suburban chic,
appealing to the sophisticated and feminine side of the client to bridge the gap between
casual and luxury."
The True Meaning client is "not coming in to buy a full outfit from us," Bohbot explains.
"They already ave their jeans or skirt or top, and they want to accessorize with this new
fun piece - it's short, chic and very sexy. Women want a connection between what they
have and what they wish to have. And we're the sartorial segue."
