NEW YORK, Sep 11, 2005 / FW / – With the fusion of Asian influences that Wenlan Chia has, she took her collection to a different level using bright colors, unique prints and a dash of bohemia.
As an art lover, both Gaugin and Matisse were Wenlan’s inspiration for her signature prints that she cleverly transformed into well tailored silhouettes and volume. Never forgetting her signature style, she continues to maintain that quirky, light-hearted and clever look.
This season, Twinkle chose luxe fabrics in washed silk jacquard skirts, chiffon baby doll tunics, linen lurex twill shorts, ruffled silk anoraks, color blocked cashmere kimono knits, and slouchy crochet cardigans just to name a few.
The design will not fully be a complete process unless fine detailing has been added and that she did in all the right places. Using Anjala embroidery, eyelet, appliqué, and beaded appliqué turned the pieces into quite a sultry and sexy creation.
For Spring 2006, Wenlan will also introduce the Twinkle T’s. A line of quality cotton tops in colors that are both colorful and subdued.
As mentioned on her press notes, “Wenlan interprets the tee with a dose of whimsy that has become her signature. Her shapes offer the Twinkle girl an alternative casual easiness. It all makes for an expanding Twinkle collections that exudes sexy innocence and pared down luxury.”
A good and well thought of collection, and FW won’t be surprised if the Twinkle followers can’t wait to hit the stores when they open the doors as they show this Spring 2006 collection!
