NEW YORK, Feb 6, 2007 / FW --- Wenlan Chia had gone mod for Fall 2007. But, instead of London town, she went to the country, sending a bucolically striking collection that is signature Twinkle that has a new twist.
Chunky knits and sweater dresses, Cracker Jack palazzo pants, hooded jackets and windbreakers, this collection shows that Chia’s aesthetics is in metamorphosis. While still catering to the junior leaguers, she is also becoming more sophisticated and expanding her clientele to the metro girl.
Her range as a designer is also expanding. From her original knits, Chia is also demonstrating deftness in handling other fabrics like chiffon, voile and wool. Recognized as a talented designer since she first showed here in New York, Chia has more than lived up to the high expectations of the fashion crowd.
Case in point is her Fall 2007 collection that has a definite reference to London’s mod era but still fits into her existing clientele with the added benefit of attracting new ones.
So, what does Chia propose for Fall 2007? Bonnets and berets for headgear and leggings as legwarmers are the accessories of choice. Brief jackets layered over sweaters, empire minis and floor-length frocks are worn with oversized cardigans and long knitted coats.
In short, expect to layer with Twinkle this coming fall and winter.
