    Celebrating the Season of Lights
    By Timothy Hagy
    Bureau Chief, FW Paris

Each year in late December, the streets of the City of Light begin to bustle with groups of tourists who have come to celebrate the season of lights amid the cold of Northern Europe. Good times and bad, Paris glitters in the dusky winter twilight.

On the whole, the year 2002 has not been a stellar one for the Fashion Industry, and with a few glowing exceptions, has brought more pessimism than optimism. Likewise, we who cover the news have reported extensively on the uncertain times that have gripped the luxury apparel sector.

Still, even in the darkness, there is reason to celebrate.

At Fashion Windows, 2002 has been a year of growth and expansion, bringing us our own share of challenge and disappointment, offset by countless rewards. On the whole, we celebrate the latter in an atmosphere of increasing optimism.

The Fashion Windows family, one spread across the globe, though joined through the modern miracle of the Internet, would like to take this occasion to wish all of our friends the best and brightest of holidays.
