NEW YORK, Sep 13, 2012/ — On September 8th, at Milk Studios, Parsons, The New School for Design celebrated the first graduates of its new MFA Fashion Design and Society program in “The First Eighteen” fashion show.

Students in “The First Eighteen,’ include QIANYAN ZHOA, MAYUMI YAMAMOTO, ELISA VAN JOOLEN, TALIA SHUVALOV, JADEROZENBROEK, KAORU OSHIMA, JIE LI, SINEAD LAWLOR, NORIKO KIKUCHI, SOOJIN KANG, AINA BECK HUSSAIN, JUN JUYEON HONG, RUBY HOETTE, BECKETT FOGG, CARLY ELLIS, CLAIRE DIEDERICHS, LUCIA CUBA OROZA, and PAULA CHENG.

Innovative and progressive, Parsons MFA Fashion Design and Society offers these students the opportunity to make substantive contributions-both professional and conceptual-to the field of fashion design. The program was initiated with the support of Parsons alumna Donna Karan, whose own career reflects a broad view of fashion that has transformed the field.
