BEVERLY HILLS, CA, May 30, 2001/ FW/ --- On May 22nd Bon Jovi released their first-ever live album,
One Wild Night-Live 1985-2001,
which
debuted on the Top 200 at #20. The album features live versions of such hits as "Livin' On A Prayer",
"Runaway", and "Bad Medicine," as well as new favorites "It's My Life" and "One Wild Night". Recorded all
around the world, One Wild Night is a collection of 78 minutes of Bon Jovi's best live rock performances
over 15 years. One Wild Night gives die-hard fans, as well as new audiences from the success of "It's My
Life", a taste of what only a live Bon Jovi show can give.
The 15 tracks were all handpicked by Bon Jovi, each holding its own meaning to the band. 'Runaway' and
'In and Out of Love' were both taken from shows in Japan, the place where Bon Jovi received their very
first Gold record. Jon states that, "In particular those two songs were picked for their energy and really
depicted the band's hunger and sweat back in '85. 'Wanted Dead or Alive' and 'Keep The Faith' were chosen
for anyone who ever thought Bon Jovi is just an 'arena band'. Those two songs are from an intimate 500-person
performance at the China Club in New York that we did for a radio station."
One Wild Night-Live 1985-2001
also includes 2 cover songs, "I Don't Like Monday's" and "Rockin' In The Free World," a first
for a Bon Jovi release, which were also chosen for the significance behind the songs. "I Don't Like Monday's"
features Bob Geldof and was recorded on the 3rd night of Bon Jovi's sold out shows at Wembley Stadium in
London, which was also a few days prior to Live Aids 10th Anniversary. "Rockin' In The Free World" was
recorded shortly after Nelson Mandela's release, to an integrated South African crowd.
Bon Jovi are currently on the road on their "One Wild Night Tour" which culminates in a two night homecoming
at NJ's Giants Stadium July 27th and 28th.
