Jacqueline Kennedy's Secretary and Attendant Auction Kennedy Artifacts and Documents
DALLAS, Jul 9, 2003/ FW/ -- The "Kennedy Mystique" continues with the July 19th auction of two large private
collections of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis and John Fitzgerald Kennedy
signed documents, personal artifacts, and White House and political memorabilia
consigned by Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis' Personal Secretary, Mary
Barelli Gallagher, author of "My Life With Jacqueline Kennedy," and Personal
Attendant, Providencia Paredes.
An original color photograph of Jacqueline (pregnant with John Jr.) and
candidate Senator John Kennedy in 1960, captured in a carefree moment on the
streets in Georgetown away from the crowds.

These exciting collections will be sold outside Manhattan by Hantman's
Auctioneers in conjunction with Second Story Books on July 19th at 9:00 a.m. in
a live gallery auction and simultaneously in real time on eBay. The fully
illustrated color catalog can be viewed now on-line at

Articles of Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy's clothing include JFK's Navy- issue
boxer shorts, suit, dress shirts and tuxedo, and Jackie's daytime and
eveningwear (nightgowns to evening gowns) by American and European designers.
Personal accessories range from cigarettes, lighters, lipsticks and toiletries,
to Jackie's bathing suits and sleeping cap.
Historical highlights include John F. Kennedy's personal black notebook
containing 25 pages of reminders, notes and fragmentary speech drafts from his
1960 Presidential campaign; two limited edition copies of Kennedy's Inaugural
Address with dedicatory inscriptions by President Kennedy; a leather-bound copy
of "John F. Kennedy Memorial at Runnymede" (privately printed for Jacqueline
Kennedy for the 1965 dedicatory ceremony with HRH Queen Elizabeth II and other
dignitaries) with Jacqueline Kennedy's note; and correspondence from Jacqueline,
John Jr. and Caroline Kennedy.
Kennedy collectors will also find original unpublished and other personal
Kennedy photographs, many inscribed by White House photographers Cecil
Stoughton, R. L. Knudsen and fashion photographer Richard Avedon; an original
painting of Senator John F. Kennedy holding a scroll with an inscription by JFK
on the scroll; 1960 Presidential campaign memorabilia; Kennedy Inaugural
sterling silver pen and pencil sets; JFK memorial items; and books inscribed by
and to the Kennedy family.
Hantman's will auction the collections at 128 American Road, Morris Plains
New Jersey. The public can inspect the property during a four-day exhibition on
Sunday, July 13, 12:00 - 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 10:00 - 5:00 p.m.,
Thursday, July 17, 12:00 - 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, July 19, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
