NEW YORK, Oct 1, 2001 / -- 1930's Hollywood Glamour, shorter hemlines, bohemian overtones, and lots of
black -- this is what you can expect to see strolling down the red carpet. And while not everyone can walk
away with the coveted trophies at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards, everyone who attends the event can
walk away a fashion winner.
For the first time in the 53-year history of the Emmy Celebrations, the Academy of Television Arts &
Sciences (ATAS) has named a fashion consultant -- Bergdorf Goodman, the world's preeminent fashion specialty
store. Bergdorf Goodman will provide wardrobe counsel and fashion trend information to ATAS members and Emmy
celebration attendees, as well as stylists and wardrobers.
This marriage of fashion and television is a sign of the times. From shows like Sex and the City to Friends
to Will and Grace, fashion is shown to the world through the small screen. And now, under Bergdorf Goodman's
counsel, the television industry can put its best fashion foot forward.
