By: Jenny Bailly

NEW YORK, Dec 21, 2001/ --- "A Beautiful Mind" and "Moulin Rouge" have come away with the most 2002 Golden Globe nominations, six each. The Aussie stars of both films, Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman, respectively, were also nominated for their roles in the films.

Co-stars Ewan McGregor and Jennifer Connelly garnered nominations too.

The former Mrs. Cruise was also nominated for best actress in a drama for her role in "The Others." Billy Bob Thornton followed her lead, earning double nominations, for his dramatic role in "The Man Who Wasn't There" as well as his comedic turn in "Bandits."

"The Lord of the Rings" earned nominations for best drama and best director. That other fantastical film we've heard a bit about lately, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," was not nominated for any awards.

Robert Altman's "Gosford Park" snagged five nominations, for best comedy, best director, best screenplay, and best supporting actress nods for both Helen Mirren and Maggie Smith.
