DALLAS, Dec 27, 2001/ FW/ --- According to a survey by Taubman Centers, most people who receive unwanted holiday gifts do not recycle them. In fact, most people return the gifts they don't want and exchange it for something.

Taubman Centers which manages shopping centers in 13 states conducted a survey of 3,460 respondents, asking them what they do with unwanted holiday gifts.

• Just over 40 percent said they return gifts they don't want.
• 26 percent said they pretend they like the gift but then stash it away unused.
• 18 percent said they use unwanted gifts even if they don't like them.
• 15 percent said they recycle unwanted gifts, passing them on to someone else the next year.
