NEW YORK, Feb 4, 2002/ FW/ --- New England Patriots' Tom Brady not only received the world championship
title and coveted Lombardi trophy, he also became a milk mustache celebrity in his very own ad.
Just hours after the big game, the champ's solo milk mustache ad, touting the benefits of
calcium-rich milk, debuted in February 4 edition of USA Today.
The ad, which reads, "Nine essential nutrients active bodies need. Collect them all," showcases
Brady to communicate that nutrient-packed milk is especially important for athletes because it
contains nine essential nutrients, including bone-building calcium and muscle-building protein.
Score a Touchdown with Milk
"The milk industry is proud to congratulate Brady with a milk mustache ad to communicate
to fans that nutrient-packed milk is an important part of the training table," said Kurt
Graetzer, CEO of the "got milk?"â/Milk Mustache campaign.
"Drinking at least three 8-ounce glasses of milk a day is an easy way for athletes to make
sure they're getting the nine essential nutrients found in milk."
Milk Blitz
Super Bowl XXXVI marks the fifth time a winning Super Bowl star has been featured in a milk
mustache ad. The National Academy of Sciences recommends most adults get at least 1,000
milligrams of calcium per day, the equivalent of drinking at least three, 8-ounce glasses
of milk.
