American Express Publishing and Editorial Televisa Announce the Launch of Travel + Leisure en Español
NEW YORK, Sep 4, 2002 /NS/ -- American Express Publishing Corporation and Editorial Televisa, S.A. DE C.V.
announce the launch of Travel + Leisure en Español. The first issue, October
2002, is scheduled to be on newsstands in late September with an initial
distribution of 120,000 copies and an equivalent cover price of between US $3.00
and US $4.00 based on local currencies.
Travel + Leisure en Español will be sold
in 17 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, including major markets
such as Mexico, Chile, and Argentina, as well as Puerto Rico and selected
Spanish-speaking areas within the United States.
Reynaldo Alés has been named editor in chief of Travel + Leisure en Español.
Most recently, Mr. Alés was editor in chief of Men's Fitness en Español and
editor in chief of Motor Trend en Español. Other past positions include
Associate Editor of Newsweek en Español and Managing Editor at Airboard Inflight
Magazines. He has also been a freelance travel writer-photographer.
American Express Publishing brings particular expertise with brand
positioning, vast consumer subscription efforts including powerful database
marketing capabilities, and superb editorial design across all its titles.
Travel + Leisure is the world's leading travel magazine and a perceived brand
leader, and editor in chief Nancy Novogrod will help guide all editorial design
and content of Travel + Leisure en Español.
Editorial Televisa has a very strong

including TV, radio, event, and magazine platforms. In addition to using these
channels to help promote the magazine, Editorial Televisa also brings extremely
strong newsstand distribution, powerful advertising sales packaging, and a
dedicated corporate sales staff.
