Style Can Lead to Stardom

Jan 14, 2003 /FW/ -- What will it take for the next American Idol to win over the hearts of Americans?

The singing show sensation that had the whole country buzzing is back again!

And while hundreds of hopefuls wait in line to battle it out, they may need more than just a great voice.

At American Idol tryouts throughout the country, a great appearance is just as important as a great voice. Hair signifies your sense of style and personality.

With pop role-models Britney Spears and N'Sync setting some of Hollywood's hottest trends these days, potential contestants have their beauty artillery ready.

But trying to get that Hollywood look can be tough!

Famed stylist Robert Vetica says you can't be the next Idol without great hair. He's helping out some American Idol wannabe's brush-up on their hairdo's. He says you can make hair go from dull to dazzling without spending a fortune.

A unique style can give hopefuls that added edge over the competition. It's part of the equation that contestants hope will add up to become the next American Superstar.
