Latin Sensation Carlos Ponce Joins Entertainment Tonight
Singer-Songwriter-Actor Will Report on Film, TV, Music & Fashion
Jul 30, 2003/ FW/ --- Ladies, get ready to swoon. Latin sensation and heartthrob Carlos Ponce
will grace the small screen as an ET Personality, Paramount Domestic Television announced today.
Yes, the singer-songwriter-actor who has captured the hearts of fans from all over with
his double-platinum albums is now a television newscaster reporting on film, TV,
music and fashion.
In making the announcement, Ms. Bell Blue commented, "Carlos has emerged as
an incredible and multi-talented Latin entertainer who has won the hearts of
millions of fans. We are extremely excited to have him join the show, where his
global perspective on entertainment will be featured across many different
formats."
A major star in the Latin entertainment world, Ponce first appeared in
several Spanish soap operas in addition to hosting and producing "Control," a
magazine show for Spanish television, which earned him two regional Emmys as
producer and numerous "Best Host" awards.
His acting career took off when he
starred in the telenovela "Sentimientos Ajenos," a 60-episode Spanish-language
soap opera for Univision.
During his successful run on the nighttime drama, Ponce captured the
attention of music executives after singing one of the songs on the show's
soundtrack.
A multi-year record deal lead to numerous #1 hits, double-platinum
albums, and numerous awards including Billboard Magazine's "Best Pop Album, New
Artist" and "Best New Artist" honors. His many singing credits also include a
duet with Joy Enriquez of the renowned Walt Disney classic, "Bella Notte" for
"Lady and the Tramp II, Scamp's Adventure" in both English and Spanish.
Ponce entered the American acting arena with guest appearances on "Beverly
Hills, 90210," the critically-acclaimed series "Once and Again," and The WB hit
series "7th Heaven."
This Fall, he will also be seen as a featured guest-star on
the premiere of ABC's "Karen Sisco," as well as the 8th season premiere of "7th
Heaven," in which he will have a recurring role.
