Feb 24, 2003 /FW/ -- He dwells in a world of eternal night - but the blackness is filled with
sounds and scents, tastes and textures that most cannot perceive.
Although attorney Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck) is blind, his other four senses function
with superhuman sharpness. By day, Murdock represents the downtrodden. At night
he is Daredevil, a masked vigilante stalking the dark streets of the city, a
relentless avenger of justice.
For Daredevil, justice is blind...
Brian Osuch interviews Ben Affleck.
Brian Osuch: The box office smash
Daredevil has the movie's star, Ben Affleck, fighting for justice and becoming
one of the many celebrities choosing to play an action hero. Ben explains why he
took on the role.
Ben Affleck: This comic book was one of my favorites when I was a kid and I
always loved this character, and so, when they told me they were making it, it
was a no brainer for me, I was just dieing to do it.
Brian Osuch: In the movie, Affleck's character was pushed beyond his
physical limits. Ben explains preparing for the action scenes.
Ben Affleck: I had to do a lot of training for the movie, we trained on
these wires, and I had to learn Kung Fu, I had to get flexible, I had to learn
how to use these sticks as weapons and twirl them all around, I had to weight
lift, I had to run... it was exhausting. And I don't know if I would do it
again, but it was worth it.
Brian Osuch: And what about that costume?
Ben Affleck: I love the costume, the costume looks very much like the
costume in the comic book. But I loved it, mine, mine's the favorite of all the
comic book costumes.
Brian Osuch: Daredevil co-stars Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell. The
movie is in theatres now.
