Daredevil: Movie Review
Action-pack Thriller Waiting for A Video Game
By: Mari Davis

DALLAS, Aug 2, 2003 /FW/ -- I have to admit, I did not see Daredevil in the theaters. It was one of those movies I decided was not worth the expense of a movie and that I will just wait for the video release. I was wrong.

Watching the action on the big screen would have been more exciting. Though I can honestly say also that seeing it on video, and being able to play it again and again is also good.

I am not a fan of Daredevil, hence my decision to wait for the video. My interest in the movie started with the still photos that passed through my desk for fashion - the sunglasses that Ben Affleck wore is worth more than a second look for a fashionista.

On the fashion sense, the sunglasses really did the movie justice and perfect for the character of Ben Affleck's Matt Murdoch. And if I may add, Ben Affleck was dressed well as a lawyer by day.

As for the costumes, leather is Ben Affleck's and Jennifer Gardner's (Elektra) best friend. Even Collin Farrel's Bullseye, those he could have used a better costume.

Bullseye said it best when he asked the King Pin, "I want a costume," and the King Pin should have indulged him.

His long coat looked good, but, the body hugging costumes of Daredevil and Elektra just overshadowed it.

Stella McCartney would have frowned at them, but who cares! Both of them looked so good.

The action is as good as the costumes. With a video game like quality, Daredevil is waiting for someone to write one. So, it is not really surprising that on August 18, the Playstation 2 video game is coming out.

The premise of the movie is simple - a blind man who is a lawyer seeks justice. With superenhanced senses, Daredevil can dodge bullets, jump tall buildings and listen into crimes that are being committed.

Who needs a satellite and computer technology? Not Daredevil.

For sci-fi buffs, everything is possible. But for those who do not believe, the movie might seem too cartoony or even unbelievable.

No matter what side of the fence you're on, it is still good entertainment. Just don't expect a lot of character development.

But don't worry, Daredevil is supposed to be a trilogy. So, chances are the writers will show more in the next two movies.
