Kid Rock Comes Alive in Mt. Clemens
Explosive Concert Marks Premiere of New Album; Show Filmed for Upcoming VH1 Special; Self-titled Collection Hits Stores Today
Nov 12, 2003 /FW/ --Kid Rock made an explosive return to the concert stage last week with a
two-and-a-half hour live spectacular in his home state of Michigan.
The November 4th gig at Mt. Clemens' landmark Emerald Theatre was filmed by
VH1 for broadcast on Sunday, December 14th as the centerpiece of the 90-minute
special, "A Kid Rock Christmas."
The Emerald Theatre show saw Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker band
premiering a number of tracks from his eagerly anticipated new album, "KID
ROCK," including "Son Of Detroit," "Cold And Empty," and the first single, "Feel
Like Makin' Love." The album, Rock's self-produced follow-up to 2001's
4x-platinum certified "COCKY," arrives in stores today, November 11th.
The 20-song set also featured such Kid Rock classics as "Cowboy," "American
Bad Ass," and "Only God Knows Why." Among the evening's many highlights was a
duet with longtime friend and bandmate Uncle Kracker on a soulful cover of Dobie
Gray's "Drift Away." Rock was also joined onstage by Carmen Electra and the
Pussycat Dolls for two songs, including an encore rendition of the J. Geils Band
party anthem, "Detroit Breakdown."
