Aug 7, 2003 /FW/ -- The poster for the movie says, "Even cops dial 911" and that says it all
for the movie.
Inspired by the popular 1970s television series, S.W.A.T. boasts of an all-star cast starting
with Samuel L. Jackson, Collin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez and LL Cool J.
"S.W.A.T., big police/action movie, guys offering a hundred million
dollars to be rescued from the police department, and it's our job to make sure
nobody gets him. And people are trying to get him. So, we're having a great time
running around fighting people off, me, LL Cool J, Michelle Rodriguez, Colin
Farrell, it's a big fun action picture," says Jackson who plays Sergeant Dan Harrelson
in the movie.
According to both Jackson and LL Cool J, everybody in the cast trained for the movie.
"Did the whole weapons training thing, went in, learned how to go into buildings
and clear rooms and do the whole deal. We took some S.W.A.T. tests, did the
whole thing," says Jackson.
"I think Michelle probably stood out the most, because as a woman, she
just really, really delivered and held her own against the guys," added LL Cool J,
praising his co-star Michelle Rodriguez.
LL Cool J who plays Deke Kaye in the movie says that the movie gave him the
opportunity to play a character that's actually not like some of the other characters
that he has done in other films.
The rapper/actor has two more movies set to hit theatres this year and a new album
scheduled for a December release.
