LOS ANGELES, Nov 16, 2005/ FW/ --- Did you know that 2.3 million couples wed every year in the U.S? And that breaks down to nearly 6,200 weddings a day.

Over 91% of these 2.3 million couples register for gifts, and most wedding guests spend from $70 to $100 on a gift. And here’s the clincher, $19 billion per year is spent on wedding gifts registries!

As a service to their customers, Crate & Barrel is introducing the new ‘Bridal Registry Guide Book: ‘50 Things You Wish Someone Had Told You Before You Registered.’

This book will be handed out at every Crate and Barrel store around the country, to every bride and groom who comes in to inquire about the Bridal Registry book. It will also be available on the Internet at www.crateandbarrel.com/gr

"50 Things" is both practical advice on what and how many to register for, plus a "look book" showcasing the quality and range of product that makes Crate and Barrel unique.

There is intelligent information about the core categories of any Bridal Registry: dinnerware, drinkware, flatware, cookware, cutlery and kitchen accessories.

It is a real teaching tool for those brides and grooms who want to know the difference between earthenware and porcelain dinnerware, between hand-forged and 18/8 flatware, which barware to serve the latest cocktails in, and what kinds of wine to serve in which style wine glasses.

And for those who have not set their wedding dates yet, as you have guessed, June is the most popular month for weddings, then August, followed by September and October. So, if you are planning to marry during any of these months, make sure that you do your bookings early!

And just for fun, here are some statistics about weddings:
