12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® Nominees Announced

LOS ANGELES, Jan 5, 2006/ FW/ --- Ellen Pompeo and Benjamin Bratt announced the nominees for the 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® at the Pacific Design Center’s SilverScreen Theater early this morning here in Los Angeles.
The ceremonies and gala night slated on Sunday, January 29, 2006 will feature film and television stars voted their peers for their outstanding work.
The SAG’s most prestigious award, the ‘Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award’ will be given to Shirley Temple Black, who captivated the world as no other child star has done before or since, then served her country as an eminent diplomat over more than three decades, as announced last September 2005.
The ceremonies will be broadcasted live on Sunday, Jan. 29, on TNT and TBS at 8 PM ET/PT, 7 PM CT, 6 PM MT
Leading the nominees this year are: Russell Crowe (Cinderella Man), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote), Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain), Joaquin Phoenix (Walk The Line) and David Strathairn (Good Night And Good Luck) for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a leading Role.
Judi Dench (Mrs. Henderson Presents), Felicity Huffman (Transamerica), Charlize Theron (North Country), Reese Witherspoon (Walk The Line) and Ziyi Zhang (Memoirs of a Geisha) are nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
