Aug 22, 2002/ FW/ -- Emerging New York Designer Andrew Urbain and his business partner Michel
Deschodt are showing that great clothing designs and good business sense go hand-in-hand to build
a successful fashion house.
The two-year old company Andrew Urbain, Inc. announced today the appointment of Maureen Leming as
Sales Director for its growing North American sales operations.
In her new position, Ms. Leming will be responsible for developing new strategies and
leading new initiatives and outreaches aimed at increasing the number of sales of outlets
carrying the Andrew Urbain line.
"I am very excited at Ms. Leming's decision to join our organization," commented Andrew Urbain,
Creative Director of the company bearing his name.
"Our growing North American operations require a seasoned senior sales executive to manage our
growth," he added.
The Andrew Urbain line has experienced phenomenal growth both in sales and brand recognition since
it was established in 2000. Thanks to Michel Deschodt's agressive stance on sales and marketing,
the Andrew Urbain line has been shown via trunk shows and apparel marts from Los Angeles to Dallas.
Commenting on Ms. Lemming's appointment, Michel Deschodt, Managing Director of Andrew Urbain, Inc.,
said, "Maureen's experience in brand development for high-quality, sensibly priced women's wear
on the U.S. market is perfectly suited to the Andrew Urbain line. She will be invaluable in the
future development of our U.S. Sales strategy."
Last year, the company appointed the Jassin-O'Rourke Group to provide full time strategic
merchandising services for the company.
Andrew Urbain, Inc. is definitely making the right moves in establishing its place in the
fashion world.
