MILAN, Feb 27, 2004/ FW/ – Bonnie and Clyde gangster gorgeous for the fall 2004/05 collection Trend-Les Copains designed by Sardinian Antonio Marras (who will continue to design for the label for the next three years), fast cars and fast lives for these 1940’s dolls.
Cartoon cityscape backdrop and a vintage black Cadillac for a get away car, these smoky ladies have thought of it all.
They put bright mohair mini sweaters and shoulder wraps over elaborate paisley floral and pinstripes while skirts are pleated at the back and become knee length kilts for a stylish and fun play on a love affair between Dick Tracy and Jessica Rabbit.
Fur is ever present and wraps sensually around shoulders while the classic trench in all black or red pallid belted at the waist is a must for any mysterious character driving through the city at night completely at ease with its bright neon lights.
In a racy two step dance she wears large roses printed onto silk or a black and white argyle knit sweater, and where there are jackets, there is often added volume in the back, sparkles are flashy and tempting for glittering underground nightclubs.
A bright collection full of decisive colours like canary yellow and fire engine red, that come either plain or patterned in a run of outfits that fit together creating a fantastical collection for pretend characters on a film set.
Accessories are important details, from the dolls stilettos worn with long school girl socks or fishnets, scarves are maxi and berets are worn over perfect little kiss curls and waves to finish off the freshly powdered face with its tempting rich red lips.
Marras is fundamentally fun, his knitwear splendid and his capacity to bring to life fairy tales envious.
Slinky, sexy in all the right places and detective story charming and captivating, Trend-Les Copains is entertaining and cheerful.
