Antonio Miro Fall 2005
Paris Menswear Show Fall 2005
Antonio Miro: ‘ Street Lab’
By Mari Davis
PARIS, Jan 28, 2005/ FW/ --- Taking inspiration from the skateboard culture, Spanish designer brought the streets on the runway resulting to a very youthful collection that every young man in their 20s and early 30s will love.
Using classic tailoring as the basis, Antonio Miro revived the blazer but made it a little bit informal, something that you can actually wear skateboarding! Hard core skateboarders might say that it is overdressing a bit, yet, in metro centers, we have seen men in bicycles wearing suits to go to work, so why not in a skateboard?
Hues and silhouettes are eclectic, as cargo pants came in tweeds, wools and velvet. Plaids and jacquards were also seen on the runway, together with bi-color knits and wovens.
Though the collection is as not as revolutionary as we have come to expect from Antonio Miro, this collection still emphasizes his quest for the perfect cut and silhouette for the modern man.
Mixing the traditional with the modern, the natural with high-tech fabrics, Antonio Miro remains a bastion of creativity and experimentation for what the male folks will wear season after season.
