Antonio Miro Recaptures Youth for Spring / Summer 2006
By: Contributing Writer
PARIS, Jul 2, 2006/ FW/ --- Spanish designer Antonio Miro recaptured a youthful style for his Spring/Summer 2006 collection and signed one of his best collections in a while.
Dedicated to the work of the painter and photographer David Hockney, Miro took inspiration in the light and colours found in Hockney’s early 1960s body of work known as the Pools of LA.
Miro’s navy blue linen blazer worn with yellow pants and white shirts with yellow vertical stripes was an eye-opener. His colourful T-shirts in cotton became translucent under the lights and reveal the true male form to perfection.
The designer did a varsity jacket in an opaque plastic-like material with green prints.
The slacks and trousers are all nice done up in cotton and linen. They have an easy feel to them. Some are worn with suspenders as suggested by Miro.
His printed belts were a subtle highlight to the collection bringing an additional element unexpected style.
The collection is very fresh and one could just imagine young men well dressed at a polo or croquet tournament. These men will definitely make a statement of their own.
