MILAN, Feb 24, 2005/FW/ --- Luca Ragonese and Johnny Coca, designing ready-to-wear and accessories, respectively, brought forth a cool and chic Bally collection with gentle and soft lines full of functional details.
Slim jackets that fit snugly are matched with flared pants; while traditional trench coats in Prince of Wales plaid, tweed, pony and sheered fur were given modern proportions for a more contemporary look.
Adding beauty to the final look are leather details such as leather elbow patches and other sporty aspects.
Luca Ragonese displayed mastery of tailoring techniques with the sharp yet relaxed silhouettes especially with the fur trimmed coats, washed shearlings, cashmere twills and double-faced cashmere that were masterfully sculpted to perfection.
On the other hand, Johnny Coca explored materials and constructions. Supple leather was crinkled or ruched; contrasting stitching was used to accentuate the lines of the stacked heel boots; and shearling was added for warmth.
Attention to details is the key to the Bally ready-to-wear and accessories collections. Tassels, studs, removable fur pompoms and tiny belt buckles are seen in almost all the pieces.
Opting for a natural color palette of leather in various treatments, deerskin, crocodile and python, combined with light gold or satin finished gave a very fresh outdoorsy feel.
A winning collection through and through, expect these pieces to fly off the shelves come fall.
