Milan, Jun 28, 2001/FWD/ --- Bally's rapid revival under creative director Scott Fellows took another major
fashion step Thursday, as the label staged its first-ever men's catwalk show in Milan.
The tightly focused collection was a snappily smooth expression of modern classic dressing that included
plenty for both the hefty contingents of buyers and fashion stylists who attended the show.
Fellows' Bally man is a smooth operator who favors a slim silhouette in the finest of fabrics. Knits clung,
shirts were tapered and jackets were snug on the body.
Scott opened with some great ecru Napa trench coats, worn with straight pants, followed by some great dark
blue jackets in woven leather.
Bally's bread and butter business remains footwear and accessories, and Fellows responded to that reality
with stylish Roman sandals in Bally's signature red and a slick new military-style cartridge bag.
In a Milan season of over-the-top fashion, this was a collection for guys who don't need to flaunt it
because they've had it for a long time.
