PARIS, Oct 9, 2004/ FW/ --- With the overwhelming popularity of retro chic this season, Cacharel brought a very playful, romantic, and sexy version of the 1970's inspired by the photographs of Malick Sidibe in Mali of the West African youth.
Full of vivid colors, batiks and bold prints on broderie anglaise, metallic linen, plaid cotton canvas, brocade and wooden beads, the collection evoked a spirit of eccentric charm yet sweet and cute.
From layered mini dresses to cuffed shorts, cropped pants to floor length dresses, and skirts to swim wear, husband and wife design team Suzanne Clements and Inacio Ribeiro filled the room with very practical and wearable pieces that will surely to be seen walking around Paris all the way to Los Angeles come Spring/Summer 2005.
With the addition of a braided headband that each model wore around their head, the handbags or the wedge style footwear with funky vivid prints all spelled out fun, playful and stylish.
They also used leather detailing, sequins and plenty of very charming wooden beads that can be worn around the neck in layers or even around the waist showing the strength of every woman who wears them.
So don't forget to put Cacharel on the list on your 2005 Spring/Summer shopping spree extravaganza.
