NEW YORK, Feb 16, 2004/FW / --- Europe’s grand ski resorts has been Carolina Herrera’s inspiration by the good designer for her Fall/Winter 2004 Collection, making sure that the snow sirens still look chic while braving the elements.
The designer offers the women of today a variety of back to basics using luxe fabrics such as cashmere, alpaca, bulky knits and soft leathers so lavishly embellished with sable, mink, ermine, and fox.
Add color palette fitting for the season in question of brown, deep blue, wine and black.
Carolina Herrera also showed how scarves (both in knit and soft satin) could be worn not just around the neck but to enhance an outfit without taking away from the whole ensemble.
The scarves of softer fabrics were stamped with patches of gold squares along the edge and offered another emphasis.
Carolina Herrera never lost sight of the feminine aspect with cuts, like the knee-length skirts that flared just below the hips as well as a royal blue charmeuse halter dress trimmed with gold vertical lines worn with quite a slinky belt at the waist and gave it that flirty and sexy yet sophisticated look.
So whether the Carolina Herrera gal is off-piste or schussing around in her ski pants and sweater, she can still look good at the après-ski with her beaded cashmere knit sweater.
