Carolina Herrera: Models Just Want To Have Fun

Oct 31, 2001/ FW/ --- What do models do after their hair and make up are done, the designer
and the stylist has approved the way the outfit she is wearing looks, and they are waiting for
the show to begin?
Like everyone else, they just have fun!
There is no more eating nor drinking (although there is usually a spread backstage.) They usually
do that before the make-up artists and stylists do their magic on them.
Some of them play board games, some read, and some just play catch up with the other models. Since
they are usually booked at different shows, they just talk and exchange news!
If they see an old friend, they do the hugs and kisses, but always careful not to smudge their
make-up or ruin the dress. Remember, the clothes should always be immaculate for the runway shows!
This is one of the best times to take photographs. Backstage, cameras are always flashing. It can
drive someone nuts. But if you are used to spotlights and photographers taking photos of you all
the time, then it becomes "white noise" to you.
Most of the times, you just catch them unaware and they are just themselves. And though they are
probably one of the more famous faces in the world, at that moment in time, they are just friends
catching up with one another.
