NEW YORK, Sep 21, 2002/ FWD/ --- The Carolina Herrera woman is a strong intelligent
woman who also has a soft fun feminine side.
For Spring 2003, Herrera created
a collection that would please both sides of her customers.
Brown was a key
color as it was paired with electric blue, dusty pink, and chartreuse.
Workwear
details were found everywhere: metal zips closed vests and trouser pockets and
metal rings were used as belt buckles.
Cargo pockets decorated shirts, safari
jackets, and skinny knee-lenght skirts.
Butter-cup-colored leather came in the
form of power-suits as well as halter tops.
On
the softer side, blouses and dresses had billowing sleeves and were off the
shoulder.
One empire waisted gown had butterflies printed on the bodice.
The
paisley-printed chiffon tops, tiered skirts, and dresses gave the line a bit of
a bohemian feel without looking vintage.
Whimsical large scale lily printed
gowns closed the show with a mix of fun and elegance that Herrera has built her
career on.
