NEW YORK, Sep 9, 2004/ FW/ – Keeping up appearances is fundamental for the jet set socialite lifestyle, and while Carolina Herrera was (and still is) part of the pack, she now chooses to keep up her ‘best dressed’ title by literally dressing her friends cum clients that have helped her create a fashion empire.
Ivana Trump front row in a two piece pink skirt suit with young beau on arm could be seen
wearing the entire collection, just as fashion guru Editor Anna Wintour would for a lunch
appointment or after eight.
Spring summer 2005 is as always, elegant and classically chic for Carolina Herrera.
Swimming ladies and 1940’s mosaic and tiled interiors danced on soft fabrics like tweed and silk chiffon in a bright summer palette of brilliant orange and lush green for Herrera’s new wardrobe.
Gidget bikini’s will reconquer the beach, and though while not perhaps in California but rather on the shores of St. Tropez and on the cruise boats of the Emerald Coast where the elite bathe and tan.
Hemlines are ladylike and knee length for days, while evenings spin into the marvelously long and elegant. Pleats are picture perfect from mini versions for subtle detail to box volume, while drawstring pretty summer dresses are light and inviting.
Simple lines always tend to prove design functionality and where Herrera gathers and uses studied beading, others often fail, proving that she has the talent and ability to combine the wearable, practical and beautiful.
