PARIS, Mar 11, 2003/ FW/ --- From the opening red and black plaid skirts and silk print blouses to the finale of vibrant colors, Jean Charles de Castelbajac sent out a cheerful collection for Fall/Winter 2003-04.
Sunny orange found its way throughout, often paired with black or cream. Even an aluminum jacket was trimmed with tangerine fur.
"Not depressed" read a cut out; comic@dog.com said another.
A Ken doll was inserted in a wrap around tool belt worn as an accessory.
JC de Castelbajac has a witty sense of humor, as well as the good sense not to take himself too seriously.
It was a fine collection chock-full of playfulness. And just like the designer himself, without the slightest whiff of pretension.
