MILAN June 29, 2004/ FW/ --- Cavalli’s charming man is part of the past but sets about to personalize the future with new lands to explore, kisses to steal and hearts to break for summer 2005.
This romantic traveler dresses for all occasions, and while carrying his heart on his sleeve he collects fragments along the way manifesting them throughout his wardrobe in any which way he can; be it tastes of the orient or earth tones from Africa.
‘Army of Lovers’ may sound collective but it is greatly about the individual as he pieces together leather pants with laces running up side seams, an ostrich leather trench and uniquely ornate summer cotton shirts.
Flags are printed onto jackets, Admiral cuts and the wild west all have a role in a collection that is based on classic men’s tailoring detail that blends with the sprightly street metropolitan chaos of our contemporary today.
Canvas skims tapestry and silk as cotton and cashmere fuse with knife cut leather while accessories continue to be a must; ranging from boots to loafers, bags, studs and anything sparkling whether it be medal or diamante.
Cavalli men are gypsy wanderers that skip lightly across continents leaving lasting impressions that are transformed all too suddenly for their prey, into lasting memory…he is the Don Juan of the 21st century.
