MILAN, Oct 2, 2004/ FW/--- Sunbathing on a deck of an antique house on the Tuscan countryside, Roberto Cavalli dreamt of distant travels from the African Bush to Brazilian villas…
As usual Cavalli is giving us so much in an enormous collection of fine fabrics and prints. Exploring the Victorian era he presented puff sleeves and bussle skirts in floral prints of green and white.
The Cavalli woman is all about wearing a gypsy skirt or leopard print tunic over a jewel studded bikini. Cowboy hats and large buckled belts were giving a lot of Wild West tease. This neo luxurious gypsy is all about her tiny bolero in macramé worn over pants, as her feet look fabulous in jade or turquoise studded spike heels.
With a front row filled with Italian starlets such as: Maria Grazia Cucinottta, Marta Marzotto and Jasmine Al Fayed, the show did not have a dull moment.
The kaftan is officially back in glowing lemons on white in 18th century inspired botanical prints of coral, shells and fruit. Confirmed throwbacks also include the loose-fit jam pant in khaki and black with a tapered ankle.
Evening gowns in red and yellow with dynamic side abdominal and gut cut outs trimmed in sequins were sensually tailored to every curve.
The show was full of wooden bangles covering the forearms. Low hung leather woven bags and fur tail bags will look great as she pulls out her petty cash at a market in Ibiza. Bulky gold chains made leopard print tops look royal.
The summer will end as the Cavalli traveler gets serenaded in Paris wearing long voluminous flounced skirts.
