Mar 10, 2002/ FWD/ --- Despite the long wait to get into the Petit Palais (and what fashion
show starts on time anyway?), the venue of the Celine show, Michael Kors proved it was worth
it as soon as the show took flight.
Pulsing music, sleek hair and tough attitude were the perfect accessories to this
"Top Gun" collection.
This season, Celine, always clean, crisp and luxurious, took classic sportswear
"out of Africa" and into the city.
Topped with long aviator scarves, sleek bomber jackets paired with steel-gray nylon flight
pants were as tough as they were glamorous.
Longer coats made a powerful statement. Carmen Kass wore a ravishing shearling storm coat
that exuded authority.
The capes, some in shearling, some in cashgora, were forceful as well.
And, of course, no Celine collection is complete without fur: A duster, a bomber and a
full-length coat came in red fox, followed by a variety of other fur pieces.
For evening Kors kept things simple in black, though the look was still tough and ultra-sleek.
A series of crepe jersey gowns were impeccably draped to reveal just enough skin and a lot
of curve.
Even more, they could be thrown in your oversize carry-on without a care - low- maintenance
and chic, all in one.
Fearless and flawless, the Celine girls would have made Lindbergh drool.
