PARIS, Mar 13, 2003/ FWD/ --- All eyes were on Sharon Stone at the Celine show Friday, who got a big wave from the house’s designer Michael Kors as he took his bow after a glitzy show for gamine Upper East Siders.

Kors’ collection for the Paris house recalled Manhattan nightlife with sequined prints in giraffe, zebra pony skirts and endless silver, but styled with neat gamine touches like checkerboard georgette dresses and cracked biker jackets.

Sitting beside Celine president Jean Marc Loubier, Stone squealed out "So beautiful!" at a slim white double face cashmere coat worn with a black mink bonnet. There was a herd of fur -- electric blue fox, shaved white mink, silver crocodile -- and an noisy attempt by a PETA to reach the catwalk, foiled by some tough LVMH security. The collection had plenty of zest – from zipped and buckled stretch tricotine pants to Dalmatian print handbags.

Also front row checking out their investment were Laurence Stroll and Silas Chou, partners of Tommy Hilfiger and owners of Asprey and Garrard, new majority controllers of Michael Kors’ house.

Since Celine’s parent LVMH sold control of Kors’ house to Stroll and Chou, Kors is expected to leave Celine, and concentrate his energies in New York. Ironically, the two names currently being bandied about both reside in New York. They are Behnaz Sarafpour and Catherine Malandrino. Sarafpour, reportedly sighted at the Celine show, is a favorite of Anna Wintour’s who won commercial success with her elegant, formal style. Malandrino, an edgier prospect who shows in places like Harlem, is supported by some French editors who see her as an ideal fit.

But for the moment, Sharon looked delighted in her diamond necklace, especially when they played "My Sharona," and Kors enjoyed his bow, especially as this slick, very wearable collection brought smiles to his new friends Stroll and Chou.
