DALLAS, Mar 11, 2004/ FW/ --- Another American designer is coming home. Michael Kors who had been the Creative Director of Celine since 1997 presented his final show for the French fashion house last March 4 to concentrate on his own New York-based line.
Under the tents of Espace Éphémère Tuileries, presented “Transatlantic Melange,” a collection of crisp, attractive, luxury sportswear that Michael Kors is known for.
From day dresses to eveningwear, Michael Kors provided the Celine lady as she jets back and forth the Atlantic.
Toffee-colored leather coats paired with Capri-length pants to the Audrey Hepburn inspired suits in gray and black and white – retail buyers will have a field day when they get the look book.
The bags and accessories will also be another gold mine. Always a strong suit for Celine, Michael Kors made sure that his ladies would not want for anything this fall.
After the show, a party was held in honor of Michael Kors at Pershing Hall, albeit much quieter than the one held for Tom Ford both in Milan and Paris.
Nevertheless, it is sad to see him go. The only good thing is that we will continue to enjoy his creations in New York, and will see him on the runway at Bryant Park.
