NEW YORK, Feb 6, 2004/ FW/ --- Fall 2004 marks the return of Ron Chereskin at the tents,
and boy… did we miss him! It’s good to see him again with a new line, Chereskin Studio --- trendy, yet sophisticated with
a hint of becoming classics.
And of course, it is good to see our four-legged friends again. It is good to know that though Ron Chereskin might have been absent from the tents for a few seasons, he has continued his support for the New York Humane Society.
Presenting both men’s and women’s collection on the runway, Ron Chereskin opened with a beige tweed shift with suede trim for womenswear and a tobacco tweed short jacket, tan suede shirt and cream microcord trouser.
And that pretty much set the tone for the collection – a Parisian taking a walk in downtown Manhattan.
Suave and sophisticated, Chereskin sent short-cropped jackets with fur trim, tweed knit mufflers, tobacco shearling coats, leather jackets and slim jeans on the runway.
With a hint of the 1980s, he also designed wide lapel tops and jackets for the Chereskin gents and ladies.
Memorable piece includes the white jacquard cashmere zip-up slim turtleneck and ebony cashmere knit flared skirt worn by Daria.
And as finale, the designer walked out with man’s best friend, and the models followed, all holding a furry friend.
Welcome back to the tents Mr. Chereskin! You were sorely missed.
