PARIS, Mar 7, 2003/ FW/ --- It was symphony in black & white with different shades of gray for
Ennio Capasa's Costume National Fall 2003 collection held in Paris last Friday.
Known for its contemporary look, the collection presented at the Carreau du Temple was a
statement of futuristic chic in today's context.
The silhouette is slim and body hugging, Capasa's signature look. The all-leather catsuit
said it all! Sexy, edgy and tough at the same time, the Costume National woman is from
today but not scared of the future.
In fact, the collection will fit well at the set of sequel to the movie Matrix starring
Keanu Reeves which will be on theaters this summer.
But don't think that there is a sci-fi quality in the collection. It is far from that.
Like the blockbuster movie, it came from all things familiar. But it's not derivative.
It is original.
It was born out of the past and used familiar elements - ruching, double-breasted coat
and upturned collars.
Using leather, fur and techno-fabrics, Capasa broke new ground in fashion by giving them
the a very slim silhouette.
This collection will fly off the shelves this fall because of its sartorial elegance alone.
But with the sequel to Matrix coming out this summer, the look will be hot for fall and
it will sell like hotcakes.
